OUR READ

Solar is a great deal —
for the right roof.

The federal Investment Tax Credit cuts 30% off your system cost through 2032 — if you have the tax liability to claim it.

Typical residential systems pay back in 6–11 years cash, then produce free electricity for another 15–20 years.

But solar isn't right for renters, north-facing roofs, very low bills, or roofs that need replacing soon — and we'll tell you when.

Each state has its own incentive structure, retail rate, and net-metering rules — Marcus factors all of it into your read. The Solar Brief itself is an independent information and matchmaking service. We don't install panels. We don't design systems. We don't earn commission per closed deal. We get paid a flat fee per qualified introduction — same fee regardless of which solar partner ends up doing the work, or whether you go ahead at all. That's the only way to be useful instead of trying to close you.

FOUR CONFIGURATIONS

From panels-only to whole-home electrification.

Most homeowners land in one of four buckets. Marcus will figure out which fits you — and he's just as likely to recommend the smaller configuration as the bigger one.

Net prices assume the homeowner has the federal income tax liability to claim the 30% Investment Tax Credit. Worth a quick check with a tax pro. State-level credits and utility rebates further reduce net cost in some markets.

Three installers had quoted me
between $42,000 and $61,000.
I went with the one Marcus matched me to. $34,800.

No pressure, no commission, no follow-up calls I didn't ask for.
